Theron is an Executive Search firm founded in 2011. With the partners having over thirty five years combined executive search experience, our objective is to consistently deliver search mandates across customer orientated businesses.

Clients look to us for innovative, diverse and quality shortlists, even in sectors where diversity is not the norm. To deliver against clients’ expectations, it is imperative to understand their culture and strategy, and what makes them unique. We visit their sites; spend time with the hiring manager(s) and ensure we understand their rationale for going to the external market and why the value proposition might be of interest to potential candidates.
With an appreciation of the business and the culture, we then look to the market for those high potential individuals who will bring a different dimension to a business and quickly add value. These ‘stars’ typically only contemplate a career move when the proposition is of interest in so much as they can see future career progression and the culture and values of the hiring company are in line with their own.
With a demonstrably successful track record, which is significantly above the market norm, we deliver what clients and candidates want. With a research-led proposition, we seek out high performers and game changers. We remain in contact with clients and placed candidates and have built a reputation for placing candidates who go on to receive multiple promotions.
The first seventeen years of my career were spent in operational Human Resources. Qualifying in the 80’s and being schooled in all functional disciplines of HR at the Prudential, areas of special interest were always recruitment and talent management.
Fortunate to be the lead HR professional in a number of start-up organisations, including Churchill Insurance and Meridian Broadcasting, this gave real insight into how to turn a strategic business plan into a successful business model. At the time of launch these organisations were real game changers in their sectors; the Direct Market for insurance was in its infancy and technology was having a major impact on how News was being reported.
Increasingly drawn to senior resourcing, I transitioned into Executive Search and over the course of the last twenty years have worked in a variety of the big firms as well as more specialist boutiques.
Keen to develop our own business, in 2011 an ex colleague and myself launched Theron so we could live the values we believed in and consistently deliver innovative, quality search to our clients, without constraints. We aim to bring something a little different to leadership teams and use traditional search methodologies to hunt for ‘stars’ with genuine growth potential.
My early career was in advertising and marketing, followed by 11 years working for a leading change management consultancy and 2 years in a senior retail management role.
Embarking on a total career change, I discovered a passion for Executive Search when I joined a boutique research company in 2000 and after gaining 6 years experience I started my own research business and haven’t looked back since.
Over 16 years I have developed an appreciation of various corporate cultures, strategic directions and organisational challenges which enables me to understand a client’s requirements and offer a bespoke service to fulfil those. This market demands high levels of integrity, professionalism, quality and above all honesty and my commitment to long term partnerships with clients is based on truthful and open communication with a focus on excellence.
Fiona and I have been working together for well over a decade; our skill sets are totally complementary, we are great friends and colleagues and between us we love the challenge of what we do.
I am a first class communicator and have enthusiasm, drive and a ‘can do’ attitude. I have a genuine interest in people and business and pride myself with my attention to detail and quality of research whilst observing strict confidentiality at all stages of the process.
